The National Apprenticeship Service is responsible for encouraging more employers to take on apprentices and, from July 2009 until 1 April 2010 when funding was withdrawn due to public spending cuts, we undertook all PR activity for the agency across the seven counties of the South West region. Our work included liaising on a day to day basis with the NAS marketing team, coordinating and updating a central case study database, producing leaflets, organising photography, writing press releases and features and devising and implementing a National Apprenticeship Week PR campaign. The latter was extraordinarily successful with the South West recording the greatest amount of media coverage in the country.
