VALENTINE’S MENU AT THE CROWN INN 03rd February 2012

The Crown Inn, Lanlivery, oozes character and charm with its low beams and cosy open fires and is a perfect place to indulge those taste buds with a delectable three-course Valentine’s Day menu.

Choose from pan fried scallops, chorizo crisps and cauliflower puree, a breast of pigeon on a pancetta risotto and red wine sauce or steamed Fowey mussels in a leek and white wine cream with toasted baguette to start.

For main, there is a rack of pork to share with apple chutney, black pudding, dauphinoise potato, seasonal vegetables and cider reduction or a pan fried fillet of bream on crushed potato, green beans and sauce vierge and an oven roasted rump of lamb with a herb crust sarladaise potato, spinach and red wine jus.

To finish the meal off in style, try the apple tart tatin served with a vanilla ice cream or warm coconut rice pudding finished with a spiced pineapple carpaccio and of course, for all those chocolate lovers, dig into a tempting rich chocolate tart with honeycomb mousse.

Dreamed up by The Crown Inn’s Head Chef, Tom Hannon, the three-course meal offer diners the chance to relax in cosy surroundings and enjoy top quality food and drink.

He said:  “We wanted to offer our guests this Valentine’s Menu in order for people to get out and try some really delicious dishes.  At only £25 per person, the menu is really good value and makes the most of local and seasonal ingredients all prepared and freshly cooked to order here.”
